Chapter Grants

As a CDN Chapter starting from scratch, it has been a responsibility-heavy journey that has truly paid off. On March 21, our College Diabetes Network Chapter at East Carolina University hosted our first member bonding event titled “Tie-dying to Get to Know You”. Our members to came together to play games, eat lunch, and, of course, tie-dye shirts. With the pandemic, I was hesitant to host an in-person event, but I made sure that everyone in attendance knew the rules and regulations for how we… Read more

But if you want to bring change and advocate for people with diabetes, as a person with diabetes, you have to make it known. Not everyone who struggles with this disease is as open about it, and that’s completely understandable. For a multitude of reasons, sharing information… Read more
Editor's note: Kacey led the charge in planning and hosting the first CDN annual retreat in Texas: a weekend of learning, networking, and gaining leadership skills. Read on for the process of planning and everything that happened at the retreat! Community is such a strong thing that empowers people to accomplish some amazing feats. I really felt the support of the young adult T1D community this past summer at the 5th Annual Leadership Retreat the College Diabetes Network put on in Maine. I had… Read more
