Tiki Ayiku serves as the senior director of educational programs at NASPA. She leads the programming team, which plans 25-30 national conferences annually and also heads NASPA’s international efforts. Her research interests focus on student persistence and athletics. She received her B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Education from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and earned her M.A. in Student Affairs from the University of Maryland, in College Park, Maryland, USA. Prior to joining NASPA, Ms. Ayiku served as Associate Dean of Students at St. Timothy’s School, Assistant Director of Student Programs, at Northfield Mt. Hermon School, and Program and Advising Coordinator at the University of Maryland College Park. She has presented on various topics surrounding leadership and student development and is extremely grateful to be on the committee as she was diagnosed as a type II diabetic while completing her M.A. and was grossly uninformed and underprepared to deal with the social, emotional and physical changes in her life. She hopes the committee will ensure that education and knowledge is available to all students to help them make better choices, and to be more informed of their options.
