Academic Interest Diabetes Scholarships

American Association Of Diabetes Educators
Eligibility: There are several scholarships available to members of the association, including students.
Scholarship Amounts: Scholarships vary, and are meant to ease the cost of attending the annual AADE conference.
Deadline: applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. 

NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Eligibility: Full-time student/US citizen at an accredited 4-year university. Minimum GPA of 3.3 or within the top 5 percent of your class. Demonstrates “Exceptional Financial Need.” 
Scholarship Amounts: $20,000. Paid research training at the NIH during the summer, paid employment and training at the NIH after graduation.
Application opens January 4, 2021.
Deadline: March 17, 2021.

Prime Medical Alert Nursing Scholarship
Elligibilty: Open to applicants working towards a two-year or four-year degree in nursing.
Scholarship Amount: Up to five students will be selected with a reward of $1000 each
Deadline: The scholarship renews each semester and must be submitted by July 31st for Fall applications or December 15th for Spring applications.

The Prosper Shaked Scholarship for Future Medical Professionals
Eligibility: US citizen. Must be able to demonstrate full-time enrollment at an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree related to the medical field. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 through the time you are applying.
Scholarship amount: $1,500
Deadline: Applications for next year’s scholarship must be submitted and received or postmarked by no later than August 15th, 2021 for eligibility in the fall of the application year

National Scholarships

Diabetes Scholars Scholarships
Diabetes Scholars - a program of Beyond Type 1 - will be awarding ~50 individual scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each in 2020.
*Scholarships currently available to US citizens and permanent residents.*
Deadline: 2020-2021 school year scholarship deadline has passed. 

Diabetes Incorporated
Eligibility: Diabetic high school seniors going to college, or students currently in college.
Scholarship Amounts: $1,000
Deadline: 2020-2021 school year scholarship deadline has passed.  

The John A. Ulis - Run 2 End T1D Scholarship

  • Applicants must be planning on attending a 4-year College, Community College or Trade school.
  • Applicants must be a graduating senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Applicants must provide proof of having type 1 diabetes

Scholarship Amounts: $1,000

LimeConnect Pathways Scholarship

  • Have, or consider themselves to have a visible or invisible disability
  • Current high school senior in the U.S. or Canada graduating in the Spring or Summer of 2019
  • Accepted to, or applied and awaiting acceptance to, a 4-year university or college in the U.S. or Canada for the 2019-2020 academic year
  • Intending to be enrolled full time in that 4-year university or college in Fall 2019

Sports-Related Diabetes Scholarships

Novo Nordisk Donnelly Awards

Eligibility: Have type 1 diabetes, are between 14 and 21, and play tennis
competitively in tournaments or on their school team.
Scholarship Amounts: $7,500 
Deadline: April 1, 2021

Scott And Kim Verplank Foundation
Eligibility: Childhood diagnosis of type 1 diabetes
Successfully managing diabetes with proper medication, exercise, and diet.
Commitment to education by maintaining an excess of a 3.0 grade point average.
Commitment to participating in athletics by actively participating on an organized team.
Completion of application with supporting documentation and endorsements.
Scholarship Amounts: $10,000 (renewable for up to four years)
Deadline: April 15, 2021

Team Type 1 Scholarships
Eligibility: Students with type 1 diabetes who are/will be attending an accredited NAIA & NCAA Institution and who compete in an NAIA & NCAA sport. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Scholarship Amounts: 100 scholarships ranging from $500 to 5,000 with two $10,000 scholarships.

Aimee Melissa Davis Scholarship
Eligibility: High school seniors with type 1 diabetes from a Travis, Hays or Williamson County, Texas.
Scholarship Amounts: $5,000

Diabetes Hope Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility: Canadian high school students with diabetes from Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Scholarship Amounts: $2,500

Incight Scholarship
Eligibility: Any student from Oregon, Washington or California who has a disability and will be attending an institution of higher education in.
Scholarship Amounts: $500 - $1,500

John E. Kostic Memorial Foundation Juvenile Diabetes Scholarship
Eligibility: High school seniors from New Jersey with diabetes seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school.
Scholarship Amounts: $5,000

Thomas Seefred Trust Scholarship
Eligibility: Ohio residents with diabetes between the ages of 18 and 25 pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
